The vocabulary is a traditional mixed farm rather than an agricultural glossary. You get the animals of the yard, the buildings that shelter them, the land around them and the work of the seasons. Words such as orchard, pasture and rooster sit beside much plainer ones, so nothing here depends on specialist knowledge or regional terms.

On this level the grid stays honest: words run rightwards along a row or downwards along a column, never backwards and never on a slant. That makes it a good place to start if you have not done one of these in years, and a reliable sheet to hand to someone who would rather relax than struggle.

Read the columns before the rows. Your eye travels left to right on its own, so the downward words are the ones most often walked past — deal with them while your attention is fresh.
