The word list stays close to what most people picture when they think of the sea: animals from the shallows and the open water, the things that move the water itself, and a few reminders that people work out there too. You will meet a whale, a lagoon and a lighthouse, but no ship names and no scientific Latin.

Because the letters only run rightwards and downwards, this size suits anyone who wants a search rather than a struggle: a player returning after a long gap, a teacher printing something the whole room can finish, an activity leader who needs an even pace around a table. The board is small enough to read in one glance, and long entries stand out immediately.

Start with the longest entries: they have to stretch across most of the board, so a slow sweep down the columns usually finds them first.
